Video: Skytone Alpha 680
The Skytone Alpha 680 is the first netbook to feature the Android as its default OS. It is powered by ARM processor and has low-spec’d package inclusion compare to Atom netbooks. The latter is initially priced around the $250 mark, however it’s not official.
Skytone Alpha 680 is also not out in the market yet but there’s already a pre-demo video.
The Android has very limited features thus far, and not in anyway comparable to other netbook OS like Windows or Ubuntu. But through time, it will be a real OS.

Is the Skytone Android-powered netbook overpriced at $250?
Skytone co-founder Nixon Wu was interviewed by Computerworld the other about the newly announced Android-powered netbook which is ARM based. The barebone of the Alpha 680 will feature a 7-inch LCD screen at 800 x 480 pixels, 128 MB of DDR2 RAM , 1 GB solid-state disk drive (upgrade options), built-in Wi-Fi, keyboard and touchpad. And when asked about the price, Wu said it could hit $250.
It’s all about the new OS if I would opt to buy this netbook. But really, the barebone can still be improved without affecting the price I guess.

Android Powered Netbook is coming to reality
After some tests and proofs that the Google Android OS can run well on netbooks, it’s now becoming clear that it’s gonna be available on the nearby stores one of these days as Skytone introduces the Alpha 680. The netbook is ARM-based, and run by Google Android OS. Guangzhou is targeting to sell netbooks at $100.
The picture tells that the netbook is convertible to a somewhat like tablet form, that definitely adds a function.
I don’t have an idea yet of what applications the OS comes with, but pretty sure it has a decent browser that lets you do some internet surfing activities.
