Korean Netbooks to increase more and more

Digitimes reports that netbook manufacturers in Korea like Samsung and LG have recently increased netbook components significantly from Taiwan based component makers. On the other hand, component manufacturers are happy about this progress on netbook scene.

Samsung and LG are only two of the Korean netbook brands I know, and so far they play behind Asus, Acer, MSI and HP. It doesn’t mean that these brands bring poor performance, though. Samsung has by far gathered positive reviews and so as LG, though some brands are really cheaper on same specs. So it could all be about the pricing. With this latest move, I hope they could bring more cheaper netbooks without jeopardizing the performance, quality and power.

Netbooks still play ‘BIG role’ in the computing market

In this tough times in the economy, one would always think that buying computers is not a good idea. According to International Data Center (IDC), the latest market figure on worldwide PC shipments slides more than 8 percent in the first half of 2009. But despite of that, the market research and analyst firm sees that the downfall will not get worse than the 2001 recession.

I’m not very much acquainted on those figures but I would strongly think that LITTLE netbooks play a BIGGER role in the market today. They’ve been the hottest selling items in PC stores for two years already and while iSuppli expects netbook worldwide shipments to grow up to 68.5 percent this year, it also forecasted to roll down to 13 percent by 2013 when the economy gets back to its better state. Gartner on the other hand cites that while netbook shipment will go up to 50 percent, overall computer sale will still likely decline.

HowTo Add HSDPA to Acer Aspire One

acer aspire hsdpa
As long as the soldering iron is hot, tnkgrl won’t stop modding netbooks, laptops or anything that has screws, just to complete what the original manufacturers have started.

The new victim is an Acer Aspire One, which despite having all the features you expect on an ordinary netbook, lacks 3G capability therefore modding came its way.

The mod is not advisable for beginners according to tnkgrl as she (i just assume tnkgrl is a girl) herself messed up at the first time and went through a lot of trials and errors.

But if you still insist, here are the steps.
