Solar-powered Spanish Netbooks

iUnika solar-powered netbooks

Another new netbook specie is found in Spain, branded as iUnika. The Spanish electronic company is announcing that they will be producing 4 netbooks under the name, and they will cost cheap. Price ballpark is said to be around $177 to $218 USD, assumably the higher price is for the brethren with special unique netbook characteristic called the solar-panel.

The netbook will run on Linux via 400mhz MIPS processor. It will also sport 7″ screen at 800 * 480 pixels, same as the Eee PC when it first came out in 2007.

The iUnika is probably late in the netbook bandwagon but the first to have solar panel.

    Seems like a hippie-netbook to me ;)
But seriously, in sunshine countries like Spain that’s maybe not a bad idea after all.
