HP Mini 311 now official, cheapest ION powered Netbook so far

HP Mini 311 ION-powered Netbook
First it gave a hint. Then it was leaked. And now HP officially announced the netbook is on as early as September 23rd. The netbook will initially ship with Windows XP and will eventually carry Windows 7 as well in October.
The HP Mini 311 is ION-powered, has an 11.6″ screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 and it has HDMI output. Of course it comes with pretty standard components such as 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM and a 6-cell battery that should give longer life per charge.
This netbook is priced at $399, making it the most affordable ION-powered netbook with 11.6″ display today.

Sep 18, 09 at 12:48 pmForgive my inner ungeekiness. But what’s an ION-powered netbook? Is it new technology I should watch out for?
Netbook is a more reasonable blogging to aspire for in my case. Macbook might be a good choice, but it’s but the stuff of my daydreams.
