Cheap USB 2.0 External DVD / CD Burner

Like what we’ve been telling all the time, one of the things that separate netbooks from Desktops and Laptops is the ability to play or burn optical discs because it doesn’t include the optical drive. It was not included in a netbook package to simply lessen the weight and of course the cost. While most software we use are available for download and can be accessed directly from disk drive or flash drives, we might think we do not need an optical drive. Operating Systems are also now available and can easily be installed via creating Live USB flash drives.

But here’s one of the things I could not do without an external optical drive. I occasionally create and edit personal videos on my netbook using Windows Movie Maker and I can’t transfer it to optical discs easily. I’ve been looking for cheap optical drives but have not considered buying one yet. So I looked around and found some cheap ones at Amerimax going at under $60. Of course there might still be some cheaper ones around and I’m giving it few more months before I buy one. Amerimax also has cheap laptop power supply cable if you’re looking for one. But I don’t guarantee you will find what you need there. You may give it a look though, and see something else you might be interested of buying.
