Acer Aspire One AO751

Yugatech is showing photos of the Acer Aspire One AO751, which is the latest netbook from Acer. It sports a 12-inch display which is about the same size of some regular laptops. It is powered by Intel Atom X520 which uses lesser power. The new netbook lasts for 8 hours for a single charging, which makes the device belong to ODC category. Also under the hood are the 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD.

Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 Unboxing Photos makes me drool

lenovo ideapad s10-2
Ranns of Netbook Philippines just got his Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 unboxed (well, this post is so late), and the said netbook in the picture is just awesome. I like how it looks except the too much sticking out battery. But that’s not much for 10+ hours of battery life in single charge.

I don’t wanna talk about other details on this post, just go ahead and click the image to see for yourselves.

Ericsson F3307 Broadband Module coming to Netbooks

ericsson f3307Ericsson recently launched a new Mobile Broadband module designed specifically for netbooks. Since the module is pre-approved with mobile operators over the world, which means netbooks manufacturers could easily integrate the module to their products without having to pass through another approval process.

We expect the device to be cheaper compared to other modules already being used in some netbooks. Mats Norin, VP of Ericsson Mobile Broadband Module included in his statement,

Boy plays Counter-Strike on Toshiba NB100

Toshiba NB100 is a lightweight netbook with 8.9″ display, 120GB HDD and 1GB RAM which is powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor. It also has an Intel 950 GMA Integrated Graphics chipset which we pretty much see on other netbooks as well.

The main reason why netbooks exist like the Toshiba NB100 is to have an easier access to the internet ‘anywhere’ without carrying a heavier laptop. But in a place where internet hasn’t fully established, you can’t stop a boy from making his Toshiba NB100 as useful.

I’ve been to my hometown this weekend and saw my cousin in front of a toy-looking device which I immediately suspected as a netbook. So I came closer and confirmed it is indeed a netbool, a Toshiba NB100. I was also pretty much amazed seeing him play the classic Counter-Strike, which by the way I never thought still exist. What even amazed me is how he played it without using a mouse, and shooting bots by the “Enter” key.

The Qualcomm’s PurseBook

qualcomm pursebookYou like to have a Sony VAIO P because of it’s form factor but really can’t afford it’s price. Now, here’s a low-cost PurseBook, which has equal form factor as the VAIO P. The thing is, it’s still a prototype and no date for its availability.

For the meantime, let’s have a quick note on things we want this PurseBook to have at the comments section. Will you, please?

Intel to make 2.0 Ghz Atom Z550

There’s a new rumor flying around top blogs today about Intel that they could be working on new Atom chips at the Z5xx series.

Z550 – runs at 2.0 Ghz and consumes power just like Z520 and Z530
Z540 – runs at 1.88 Ghz
Z515 – runs slower at 1.33 Ghz

Does this mean faster and longer lasting netbooks are coming their way as well? Of course, I’d think so.
