The first blew its speakers and I broke the mposepad and keyboard connectors while trying to repair it. I bought a new unit and have been using this for over a year now and I love it. I have upgraded to Windows 7 and installed Ubuntu 11.04 in a dual boot configuration.
My first unit didn't go to waste though as I have replaced the HDD with a smaller drive and set it up as a Skype box, connected to my home phone through a USB TelBox. The screensaver shows a slideshow of all my photo's. This is plugged into the power outlet and runs 24/7 which free's up the battery to become a spare when I'm on long trips.

I’m sure you’ll love your new Eee PC1000HE.
