Shuttle X27 is useless at $189

When initially introduced, Shuttle claims the lowest price a Nettop could have ($189, Asus Eee Box gets a good competitor.). At first I got excited, kind-of, because I know I would be able to avail one for myself and another one maybe. But then I learned it won’t have anything on that price. Put altogether the required components with atom-based processor and it will eat up $500 from your pocket. That’s too expensive now.

    Few specs

  • Chipset: Intel 945GC
  • Video: Intel GMA 950 onboard
  • USB: 4 USB 2.0
  • Network: Gigabit Ethernet
  • Audio: Analog 5.1-channel

Windows 3.11 runs on Asus Eee PC

windows 3.11It’s totally worth trying to run different OS on your Asus Eee to learn and for something new. At least for me. And my hat’s off for jair2k4 for successfully installing Windows 3.11 on his Eee PC 701. Take a look at a couple screenshots on his page and have your thoughts of it. The OS supports the ethernet but I guess it does not work for wifi.

Asus Eee Stick is exclusively for Eee PC only, theoretically works on all PCs

asus eee stick The Asus Eee Stick that looks like the Wii Nunchuck, if you don’t know yet, will be bundled exclusively with select Eee brands only. And a number of compatible games will also come bundled with each Eee Stick. I sense the Eee Box will be one of the selected since the promo video I saw during the Press Launch showed a man went fishing on the Eee Box using the Eee Stick and caught big fish.

However, since it functions on HID connectivity, it can work with other PCs as well. No? Well, you must at least believe me a little bit because it’s what the official site says.

With its HID connectivity, the Eee Stick can theoretically be used with all PCs. It will, however, function best with games specially developed for it. A number of such games will be bundled with each Eee Stick. The Eee Stick also works seamlessly with other PC gaming peripherals such as gamepads and keypads, enabling users to mix and match devices to yield their own unique playstyle.

Know how good Asus Eee PC 1000H is

eee 1000hIt’s really an advantage in doing reviews of new products if you can easily get it to your hand just like liliputing, jkkmobile, Engadget and all others. But the advantage for me who cannot afford to get a new unit since no one wants to buy my Eee 701 is that I can just read on what others wrote, re-arrange words a bit, put lovely links and post it on my blog, which I don’t want to do for all my life.

And there I just read some convincing Pros and not too bad Cons I want to share it with you as well.

  • The Asus Eee PC 1000H appears impressive to me and here are some notable points.
  • The Eee 1000H starts up with Windows pretty quickly which also has very good performance on applications.
  • Very light on battery.
  • Has perfect-size screen.
  • Larger keyboard.
  • Multi touch trackpad.
  • The matte screen doesn
