Everex Think Cloudbook MAX, by Q1-Q2 2009

Think Cloudbook MAX
In just a few days after Asus Eee PC shipped out last year, Cloudbook followed in strong confidence to compete with Asus, but then it looks like Everex stopped mingling with other ultra portables for a while now. I never have concrete basis on this being out of the loop of discussion in every blog I read.

So I glanced on their products site and found out that Cloudbook has not stopped yet. By Q1 or Q2 of next year, Everex is planning its huge come back with a better weapon. The Think Cloudbook MAX.

Think Cloudbook MAX will sport a 1.6GHz VIA C7

MSI Wind competes EEE PC 901, 1000(H) release date in US

eee pc 901 msi wind

Few hours ago, I posted that MSI Wind could be available in Amazon by today, but apparently we have to wait two weeks more before it comes real. (Still not confirmed).

According to the email posted at MSIWind Forum, MSI Wind will ship on the week of July 7th. Sounds like there’s still no exact date. On the other side, Asus has confirmed date of shipping for two models. [EEE PC 901, EEE PC 1000(H).

MSI has initially stated that the first batch that will ship will contain 3-cell batteries and that do not bring high interest to the customers. It would be better if they can also push back that initial statement so at least they could make up for pushing back the ship date twice. While this idea could be good, I don't think they can get their target number of customers that easy since EEE PC's are also out on the 8th. Yes, MSI stands out among other awaited ultra portables but EEE PC is still a big factor.

MSI Wind available in a few, battery is not encouraging

MSI did not hit the original ship date but it will be out later. However, there’s some issues that customer might not want to hear. The MSI Wind will come out packed with 3-cell battery and no higher.

According to LaptopMag:

On June 27, the MSI Wind will be available from a slew of online retailers, including Amazon.com, Newegg.com, MWave.com, Buy.com, and Zipzoom.com. However, Due to a battery shortage out of South Korea, the first batch of Winds will blow out with a 3-cell rather than a 6-cell battery for the reduced price of $479.99. Our review unit was bundled with a 6-cell battery and had an MSRP of $499.99.

A quick poll at the source’s site tells that customers are still interested to buy the MSI Wind but not until higher capacity batteries come out.

A quick glance at Amazon and it’s confirmed it’s really not out yet. In a few hours, maybe.

What’s with the site re-design?

With the recent months, I got really troubled with the bandwidth consumption of this site. I never got a little time to trace what’s causing the problem though I have a hint that the design I was using is too heavy to load. It’s a senseless guess. So I looked for another theme and found this ‘clean-n-clear’ by Worthapost and Angross, a bit cool and looks perfect for the site. I have not compared the two themes thoroughly yet and I don’t think I can do it but I will work on it. I will observe on the coming days how the bandwidth consumption will go. I hope I won’t get bigger problem with this theme.

I also hope you like this a lot better than the previous.

I just had my mini-mice 2 days ago and I’m already used to it like I don’t want to hold my regular-sized mice anymore.

Now I Go Mini

After a while of using Eee PC, I found that using the small touchpad wasn’t that comfortable to my wrist and fingers anymore. I also noticed that using classic Flash Drives to maximize the use of the built-in 4GB SSD was not so convenient anymore. So I turned my head right to some Mini accessories for my Eee PC.
I can’t afford an HP-Mini yet.

Right there at Brando.com, you’ll find All The Small Things for your lappies. And they are not just small but cool as well. And by cool, I mean they’re HOT.

Check out my new Super Talent 8GB PICO Series. And on the other side, an E-Blue Mini-mouse just about the size of a mini mouse.
