Bandwidth Exceeded Limit
My Readers,
This site is currently suffering from lack of extra bandwidth, and this post could be my last post for this month. It hurts a bit to see this blog go down for a day, and this hurts me more.
I hope you guys understand the situation. I hope you still come back and check the site from time to time. I will do all the possibilities to resolve the issue ASAP.
Sincerely,
Aldrin Cantos
Touchscreen Asus Eee PC, No leaked pictures yet.
In Australia, Asus announced at a Computex that the Eee PC will evolve to a non-clamshell factor and with touchscreen as the main input. This came straight from the mouth of Emmanuele Silanesu, Asus Australia national retail manager. { Read }
And now we can call it UMPC. Let’s picture it! Pearl white with 7″ hi-res touchscreen and sliding keyboard plus a small 1.3 MP camera on the face. That’s sweet, but still looks more like a toy rather than a PC. How about Shiny Silver instead of Pearl White?

WiFi works on EeePCLinuxOS Beta 3-1 OOTB
The only reason why I am not replacing Ubuntu Eee on my Eee PC yet is that there’s no other OS I find with WiFi already working OOTB. And now I think it’s time for a big leap to EeePCLinuxOS.

The coolness of EeePCLinuxOS.
Eeextra has the proofs that WiFi works in EeePCLOS out of the box. That’s great news. And good reason to replace your old Xandros. They also confirmed that you can save great amount of memory from your SSD compare to Xandros, since it does not include recovery system files. EeePCLinuxOS boots up in less than a minute.
I have not yet tested this OS and I still don’t have the time but expect a video on Eeextra next week. Or maybe I am really not going to replace Ubuntu Eee since it’s very close to be finished and Wifi will also work OOTB…
Update: Download location is currently down due to bandwidth restriction.
EMTEC EM-PC, Another EEE PC Killer?
Another new on the line of assassins trying to compete with EEE PC is the EM-PC by EMTEC. It is coming out equipped with Linux OS, 8.9
Ubuntu Eee is not yet Final
Honestly, I have not removed Ubuntu Eee on my eee pc yet. Because I see it’s getting fixed already and become stable like the eeeXubuntu. Although, John Ramvi is not yet finished integrating the madwifi driver to the kernel module. Currently, wifi does not work OOTB but there’s a workaround. But since wifi is the most vital module for every OS designed for the eee pc, I salute John’s effort about this.
His message:
The problem is making the madwifi driver
into a kernel module package.
If we don’t do this, and just install the driver,
it will stop working when Ubuntu pushes a kernel update
(which is what happened to the beta).
If anyone is able to compile it,
please contact me!
Look, all other OS created for eee pc does not support wifi OOTB. And just in case, Ubuntu Eee will be the first one. I wish I could help, but I honestly don’t know anything about Linux programming.
More power to John Ramvi. I’m sure you’ll figure out a solution very soon.
Asus Eee PC Keyboard Protector
Just in time when I arrived home this morning from my shift, the delivery van is waiting at the gate. They have my keyboard protector that I ordered yesterday. So I hurriedly opened and now I am using it.
The size and color is perfect for the eee pc. At first look, you wont notice that there’s a thin layer over the keys. It is soft and stick to the plastic case by itself. At first there were quite a lot of bubbles and I can’t make it fit perfectly with the keys. But then, after letting it there for few minutes, they vanished little by little.
However, I don’t feel too comfortable when I type. It’s quite humid at my place and the silicon sticks too much to my fingertips. I can type much faster with bare keys. Though, I know I’ll get used to it. Pouring some amount of baby powder to my hands made it dry and typing went smooth this time.
Final words, I will still keep the silicon keyboard protector on my eee pc because I know there more benefit from it.
Oh, did I mention that I ordered 2 pcs of this? I will be giving it to you in June. So keep on coming back as I might announce the raffle already anytime soon.
